Andrew Nhlangwini

 

Andrew Nhlangwini graduated from the University of Fort Hare Fine Art Department in 1993 and has completed his Masters in Technology for Fine Art at the Port Elizabeth Technikon. Currently Nhlangwini lectures at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University School of Creative Arts.

 

Nhlangwini is best known for his interpretations of traditional African narratives and oral histories through the language of history painting. Nhlangwini's approach towards depicting the various grand narratives of colonial and neo-colonial history of Africa resonates with that of George Pemba.
