Koto Bolofo, born 1959, Basutoland was raised in Great Britain after his family was forced to flee as political refugees. Bolofo's father was a history teacher and was found to have writings by Karl Marx amongst his teaching materials, he was subsequently exiled for his 'communist' beliefs.
Bolofo returned with his father after nearly twenty five years and documented this experience in his short film: The Land is White, The Seed is Black. Besides film-making Bolofo is extremely well-known for his creative hand at fashion photography. He has published photographs for prestigious magazines and fashion labels, such as Vogue, Burberry, Levi's - to name but a few.
