Gallery MOMO is proud to present an exhibition of four young artists, curated by Thembinkosi Goniwe. Each of them recently graduated from three different South African universities, namely Wits, Rhodes and the University of Johannesburg. The works of these young artists form a part of their final year exhibition and research paper as part of the fulfilment for their degree. Through their work, they examine subjects that are both personal and political as well as experimenting with various materials and media.

We all have stories to tell, stories that are personal and/ or political in the sense we experience our lives in both private and public domains in society. How we navigate our social, cultural or religious rearing informs and shapes our stories, which are at times pleasurable and educative while at other times painful and troubling, even a mixture of the aforementioned.

It is the mixture which tends to be more interesting and instinctive. Four tales anticipate this focus, creating a space in which to share tales and experiences.
